Winning is not what I do, it’s who I am

This blog is a little different from my usual material. But it’s necessary. I want you to read it out loud.

Okay, are you ready?

Start now!

I will not talk about living but instead, I will live. My life is not a philosophy, a theory or a case study to be analysed, it is an opportunity to experience God smiling and singing back at me.

In my journey through this life, I will make a positive impact in the lives of others. I will refuse to be a bystander in my own story, I will lead it.

I will not nurse my insecurities or those of others. I will spend less time examining my imperfections and absolutely no time punishing myself. I will forgive myself and others, I refuse to be imprisoned by offences, I am bigger than that.

I will not subject my potential to the limitations others have set for me, I will grow and I will make every ceiling over my life the floor. I will not live to please people but I will live to please God.

When I fall, I will learn from my mistakes and then rise up faster than I fell. I will tell my story in full colour and confidence. I will take risks, accept new challenges, dream new dreams and believe again.

Winning is not what I do, it is who I am.

I will be kind but I will not let my kindness to be abused. I will share myself with others to the best of my ability.

I will immediately excuse myself from people who take me for granted. I will keep good company. I will be good company.

I recognise that living a full life is my gift back to God, the giver of all life. So I choose to focus my energies on that.

I will cry, apologise, be thankful and show love the way that I know how.

So today, I will smile, laugh, play my favourite songs, make my favourite meal, read my favourite book, visit that one place I like and help someone else to do the same.

My life begins today!
